Husky Bus Launches The Klondike Experience

Dawson City based Husky Bus have recently launched their new brand, The Klondike Experience. In addition to continuing the Husky Bus name and service, The Klondike Experience now offers some exciting new tour products in and around the Dawson City area.

New Summer Adventure Tours

Located 90 minutes by road, north of Dawson City, Tombstone Territorial Park is often referred to as the “Patagonia of the North”. The park is named after the craggy, granite peak of Tombstone Mountain. So named for its striking resemblance to a grave marker, it is the most recognizable of the peaks that make up the park’s wind-carved mountain range.

This dramatic sub-arctic landscape offers outstanding wildlife viewing, birding and scenic vistas and provides the perfect setting for two new packages being offered by The Klondike Experience.

The 6-day Tombstone Park Heli-Hike tour takes guests on a spectacular helicopter flight over the Ogilvie Mountain Range before dropping them off at Talus Lake, the most remote of Tombstone’s three backcountry campsites. Guests will have three days to enjoy day hikes, photography and exploration of the area.

For more advanced hikers, the 7-day expedition style Tombstone Park Trekking Adventure offers a unique hiking experience. The tour includes four full days of remote backcountry trekking exploring the rugged peaks and sweeping valleys of the park.

Both packages include transport to and from Whitehorse by bus/air, accommodation, experienced guides and all camping gear, food while camping and Dawson City sightseeing.

Winter Aurora Viewing Tours Packages

In winter, The Klondike Experience offers a choice of three Dawson City based aurora viewing packages. Available as either land only, or with transport from Whitehorse, each tour includes two nights of aurora viewing, plus accommodation and meals at the Aurora Inn. Daytime activities vary according to the package but may include tours of Dawson City and the goldfields, dogsledding on the frozen Yukon River or a guided day tour to Tombstone Territorial Park with the option of snowshoeing.

Daily Sightseeing Tours

The Klondike Experience also offers daily sightseeing tours in and around Dawson City. Guests can explore the Klondike Gold Rush history with a tour of the town and goldfields plus admission to the Dawson City Museum and Robert Service Cabin. Another great option is a tour to the Midnight Dome which operates twice daily in the evening. This is a must-see for visitors – with breathtaking 360 degree views over Dawson and the Klondike region.

The popular Tombstone Park tour is a full day scenic tour that includes sightseeing and photo stops along the Dempster Highway, a visit to the Tombstone Interpretive Centre and an easy guided hike along the North Klondike River.

The Klondike Experience also offer winter day tour options including a three hour aurora viewing tour, a city and goldfields tour, a dog sledding experience and a full day tour to Tombstone with the chance to try snowshoeing.

Transportation Services

Since 2012, Husky Bus has been operating regular summer bus transportation services along the Klondike Highway between Whitehorse and Dawson City and points in between. In addition, they offer charter services for both large and small groups.

They also provide Dawson City airport transfer services from May to September and combined fly/ride packages between Whitehorse and Dawson City in conjunction with Air North, Yukon’s Airline.

The Klondike Experience team offer local knowledge and experience and are ready to work with tour wholesalers and operators as well as retail travel agents to ensure a memorable experience for your clients.
